So no matter if you are a follower, or just a tourist looking for a peaceful and pure environment, a visit to these Gurudwaras in Ambala is a must. This is one of the most important Gurudwara in all of Haryana state. Dedicated to the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur, Gurudwara Shish Ganj is visited every year by thousands of people from all religions and castes. People offer their prayers and respect the deity. The historical aspect of this Gurudwara is that during the Mughal rule, Emperor Aurangzeb wanted Guru Teg Bahadur to adopt the Islam religion. Upon his refusal, Aurangzeb ordered his beheading. After this, two of Guru Teg Bahadurs brave followers took his head from Delhi to Anandpur Sahib. They stopped at Ambala and stayed here overnight. Soon after, a huge Gurudwara was erected here
Badshahi Bagh Gurudwara is another historical Gurudwara that attracts the attention of many tourists to Ambala. It is dedicated to the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. In 1670, on his way to Delhi, the Guru stopped at Ambala, where he met a Peer who was towing a hawk. If stories are to be believed, the peer asked Guru Gobind Singh to fight a fight between his own hawk and that of the Guru. However, to judge his ill intentions, he declined. He suggested that the Pear let his hawk fight with two sparrows sitting nearby. After the pear agreed, the guru signaled to the sparrows to collide with the hawk. According to his instructions, both sparrows severely injured the hawk. After some time the hawk died. This incidence caused the Guru to pronounce his famous lines: Chirion se main baaz taraun, Tabe Gobind Singh name kahaun. It means - its when I make sparrows to collide with the hawk that Im called Gobind Singh
